1. His real name is Daniel Tetteh Nettey and was third of six siblings
Daniel Tetteh Nettey was born on September 19 in Accra. His father was an evangelist and he was the third of six children.
2. He started writing at the age of six
At age six, Danny had already began writing songs and taught himself how to play the piano. He attended Accra Academy where he became the school’s music director and the president of the campus Scripture Union.
3. He attended Accra Academy
While at the Accra Academy Secondary School, Danny Nettey rose through the ranks to become the Music Director and also led the local Scripture Union Fellowship as its President.
4. Danny joined Gospel group and toured after school
After school, he joined a gospel group that toured many secondary schools in the country to spread the word of God. His song writing skills had been greatly developed with some of his songs performed at his church.
5. He released his debut album in 1995
He released his first album ‘Positive Change’ in 1995 and a year later another album followed; this time in collaboration with a group called the Pals.
6. He has shared the same stage with top international stars
Danny Nettey has travelled extensively in Africa and across the world. He has performed on many high profile stages alongside Bebe Winans, Kirk Franklin, Bishop T. D. Jakes; Israel Houghton, Don Moen, Alvin Slaughter and Ron Kenoly.
7. He served as a mentor for top Ghanaian Gospel stars
Danny Nettey served as a mentor for many other gospel musicians including Cwesi Oteng, Joe Beechem, Joe Mettle and Nii Okai.
