During the recent Annual Easter Convention of The Church of Pentecost in the Kasoa region, a unique story occurred that quickly spread on social media.
A 67-year-old man claimed to have obtained quick healing for his eyesight, which he had been suffering from for 22 years.
In his testimony, the guy informed a congregation at The Church of Pentecost that he was prompted by faith to attend their worship on that day and that he got his cure during prayers.
“I’ve been suffering from this illness for 22 years. I’m 67 years old. I’ve suffered greatly and pleaded for a long time. I was resting today, and when I awoke, I informed my sister that I had a dream about obtaining healing, therefore I wanted to go to church. “They asked me which church I wanted to attend, and I said Pentecost,” he told the gathering.
The man described how he was healed, saying that a pastor prayed with him at the conference, and his eyes opened as a result.
“He put his hands over my eyes and prayed for me. I suddenly felt a scorching feeling in my eyes, like if pepper had been put on them. Then I began seeing through the darkness,” he told the church, which erupted in wild applause after hearing his story.
According to the guy, he has lost both of his parents and has been left impoverished, forcing himself, his wife, and child to rely on the generosity of the people.
One of the pastors at the conference told the guy that the church would ensure that he and his family had adequate housing as well as a company to support them.
Despite the heartfelt testimonial, it has been shown that the entire event was a hoax by the individual to rob the church.
According to accounts, after hearing his statement, the church launched an inquiry, which revealed him as a known criminal sought by the police for a variety of crimes.
His arrest was the result of a parallel police investigation.
“One occurrence happened (healing of the blind guy), which turned out to be a hoax. The allegedly blind guy has been shown to be an accused criminal who has committed several crimes and has been hiding from the authorities.
He has now been revealed and turned over to the police, according to a statement made by Apostle James Kwabena Asare, the Kasoa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost on the matter.
The church has subsequently warned its members not to debate or share information about the manufactured miracle on social media sites.
