There was an incident involving a bus transporting final-year Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) students. The incident occurred on Saturday, February 3, 2024, early in the day.
These students were on their way to a field trip. They are members of the KNUST Obuasi campus’s Civil Engineering department.
The KNUST Campride shuttle and an SUV were involved in the accident, as confirmed by the news posted on the Voice of KNUST Twitter feed. Fortunately, no deaths were reported. The fact that all those involved are safe is a comfort.
Although accidents might be terrifying, it’s comforting to know that no lives were lost. The news that there were no catastrophic consequences from the incident surely soothe the university community and the families of the students.
Following their examinations at the KNUST hospital, all 50 of the students who were injured in the accident were deemed fit. Additionally, the students have received counseling assistance.
