2017 did not start well in all aspects of the country. The country elected its new President whose swearing in was marred by plagiarism which put Ghana in a bad light.
A lot of discussions have been in the media space and even in what people call Ghetto where boys or girls meet.
Today,www.ghanafuo.com takes you through the dominating five dominating talking points in the country this year.
1. SUICIDE
The country has recorded about six suicide cases so far although the year is very young. The suicide cases have been at the center of discussions wherever in the country as people don’t seem to fathom the reason why people have taken to killing themselves this year.
2. ACCIDENTS
The country has recorded several accidents this year although we are three months through. Only yesterday, almost fourteen people died in the Central region. On Saturday, four final year students of a nursing training school in Brong Ahafo died after they were returning from the VGMA nominees jam in Sunyani. The deaths recorded through accidents are alarming.
3. BEEFS
The year has seen several misunderstanding between artistes in the country. Instead of concentrating on building their careers by producing good songs, they have only recorded ‘diss’ songs this year. Some artistes who have engaged in such things are Shatta Wale, Yaa Pono, Quata, Iwan, Jupiter, Stonebwoy.
4. FORCEFUL TAKEOVERS
After the new government took over, its supporters have allegedly taken over various public offices forcefully. These supporters just take the laws into their own hand and indulge in an act which goes contrary to the provisions of the country’s constitution.
5. DUMSOR
Dumsor is back and it has come in a grandstyle. Like predicted by some energy experts last year, the age old dumsor; the coined name for unannounced interruption of power in Ghana is back and has become a nuisance. Dumsor is back and has been at the center of discussions in the country as businesses complain bitterly of how it is affecting their output.
