The Sefwi Donkorkrom police have detained Kwame Chelsea, a man in his forties, on suspicion of having sex with a pregnant goat.
Residents are apparently in shock at the occurrence, which happened in a jungle where the suspect—a palm wine tapper who is divorced and has two kids—was caught in the act.
Eyewitnesses claim that they were drawn to the site by the sound of a goat bleating, and it was then that they saw Chelsea doing the act, according to a dailyguidenetwork.com article.
An eyewitness described the unsettling picture to Lord FM, a local radio station in the area.
“I saw the suspect, Kwame Chelsea, having sexual intercourse with the animal, so I decided to film him, and when caught, he tried to bribe me, but I turned down his offer,” said the eyewitness.
Local authorities have acted in response to the outrage in the community produced by Chelsea’s alleged activities.
The chiefs of the town, Nananom, poured libations to purge the land of any evil that could have come from the tragedy.
Nana Kwame Nyame II, the chief of Sefwi Donkorkrom, prayed for forgiveness and gave his subjects the job of carrying out the proper rites to purify the place.
The suspect’s detention has been verified by the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Police Command, which has also declared that investigations into the incident are still underway.
Chelsea is being held by the police while more legal action is taken.
