The House will reconvene tomorrow, Tuesday, February 20–23, and four ministers of state are expected to appear before Parliament to respond to 37 questions.
These are Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Minister of Energy, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum, Minister of Education, and Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Attah. The Minister of Justice and Attorney General is Godfred Yeboah Dame.
In Ho, the regional capital of Volta, the Members of Parliament (MPs) have been busy conducting an orientation course on the new Standing Orders in advance of this week’s sitting.
One hundred MPs were led through the important orders in a first group; the second batch will do the same exercise at the Rock City Hotel later.
Dame, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, is scheduled to respond to seven significant questions, one posed by Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu, the Madina MP, regarding steps being taken to criminalize the behavior of medical professionals who refuse to treat and provide medical records to patients who possess a valid NHIS card in order to pursue legal action.
The last three ministers, Mr. Amoako-Attah for roads and highways, Dr. Prempeh for energy, and Dr. Adutwum for education, are each anticipated to respond to ten questions.
Habib Iddrisu, MP for Tolon and First Deputy Majority Whip, said that the declarations and motion will be accepted while presenting the weekly business statement.
A motion to adopt the report of the Committee on Defence and Interior on the Military Operation at Ashiaman, as well as a report from the Committee on Gender and Children on the Affirmative Action (Gender Equality) Bill, 2023, are being considered.
