The United States detained a 28-year-old woman who was accused of torturing and killing animals in real time on YouTube in order to increase her following. The New York Post reported that a Pennsylvanian Anigar Monsee acknowledged torturing and disfiguring live animals.

She was charged last week for four allegedly hersing live pigeons, chickens, rabbits, and frogs in livestream footage that she uploaded to her channel.

In multiple live recordings, she was allegedly begging her 20,000 subscribers for more lives and follows while she was hacking at the animals.

“Throughout the video, she is soliciting more likes and viewers. And once she gets to the point where she is satisfied with the number of viewers, she then proceeds over the course of 10 minutes  to harm and ultimately kill that chicken,” Mr. Bernhardt said.

Monsee posted the video last Friday, just before her arrest, according to sources. In it, she was seen slicing the neck of a distressed chicken with a knife over a kitchen sink.

Four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals have been brought against the 28-year-old. Police said that People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an organization that advocates for animal rights, provided an email tip that sparked the inquiry.

“I have to tip my hat to PETA and applaud them for gathering the information and forwarding it to us,” stated Bernhardt.

To find out if anyone else participated in the creation of these tapes, investigators are still at work. Monsee is currently being held without charge after posting a $200,000 bail.
