Mali National Team Coach has named his squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Ghana and Madagascar, and there are a few notable absentees.

One major omission from the squad is Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma, who is currently sidelined with an injury. Bissouma picked up the injury in a game against Burnley towards the end of the 2023 Premier League season and has been unable to recover in time for the upcoming qualifiers.

The Eagles will kick off their campaign with a home game against Ghana at the Stade du 26 Mars on June 6 before traveling to the FNB Stadium to face Madagascar five days later.

Despite Bissouma’s absence, the squad includes El Bilal Toure, who recently lifted the Europa League trophy with Atalanta, and Ligue 2 winner Lassine Sinayoko. The team will be looking to start their qualifying campaign on a positive note and secure vital points towards earning a spot in the 2026 World Cup.

It remains to be seen how Mali will perform without one of their key players, but Coach is confident in the abilities of the squad he has selected for the upcoming matches. Fans will be hoping for a successful start to the qualifying campaign and will be eagerly anticipating the performances of the players named in the squad.
