Otto Addo, the head coach of the Black Stars, is gearing up for a tough match against Mali next week in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Addo recently announced his 26-man squad for the upcoming games against Mali and the Central African Republic.

After narrowly defeating Madagascar 1-0 in their opening qualifier, Ghana suffered a 1-0 loss to Comoros in the second group match. As a result, the Black Stars currently sit in fourth place in Group I with three points, trailing leaders Comoros by three points.

Addo acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead, especially the away game against Mali. He noted that Mali has a very talented squad, making the upcoming match a difficult one for Ghana. The Black Stars are scheduled to face Mali on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako for the third round of qualifying.

Following the match against Mali, Ghana will return home to play against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the fourth round of qualifiers. The team is determined to qualify for the 2026 World Cup despite the tough competition they are facing in their group.
