Ghana Football Association (FA) President Kurt Okraku has rallied behind the Black Stars as they gear up for the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.

Speaking to the players at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon, Okraku stressed the importance of the upcoming matches and expressed his confidence in the team’s abilities.

“The significance of these two assignments cannot be overstated. It is imperative for us to get back on track, and I have full faith in each and every one of you. The entire nation believes in you, and Ghana stands firmly behind you as we prepare for the challenges ahead,” Okraku stated.

He continued, “I am confident that we will approach the game in Mali with the necessary confidence and quality to achieve a positive outcome. It is within our reach. After that, we return to Kumasi for the crucial match against the Central African Republic. On behalf of the FA and all Ghanaians, I wish us all the best. Let’s train hard and be fully prepared for our trip to Bamako,”

The Black Stars are determined to bounce back after a mixed start in Group I of the World Cup qualifiers, with one win and one loss in their first two games. They secured a 1-0 victory over Madagascar in Kumasi but suffered a 1-0 defeat to Comoros in Moroni.

Their upcoming match against Mali will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako, starting at 19:00. Following that, Ghana will clash with the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024.

Currently occupying the 4th spot in Group I, the Black Stars are aiming to claim victory in both matches to enhance their chances of qualifying for the World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The entire nation is backing the team as they strive to achieve success on the international stage.
