The prestigious 2025 African Humanitarian Award has been officially launched in Accra, Ghana, with an exciting announcement that the event will span over a two-day period.

The launch took place at the UDS Guest House in Accra on Saturday, July 13, where Event Lead Samuel Akinyemi, who is also the Publisher of Elgee Info Media, the organizers of the award scheme, addressed journalists.

Mr. Akinyemi explained that the decision to hold the event in Ghana was to attract the attention of other African countries and garner the necessary support.

The two-day event will kick off with Humanitarian Day, dedicated to the needy and vulnerable, followed by Awards Day, where exceptional individuals who dedicate themselves to philanthropic endeavors and humanitarian services across Africa will be recognized and celebrated.

Describing these individuals as “our everyday heroes,” Mr. Akinyemi highlighted the contributions of doctors working for better healthcare, educators breaking barriers to knowledge, and peace builders fostering dialogue and unity across the continent.

The award categories include Education, Healthcare, Poverty Alleviation, Empowerment of Women and Girls, Environmental Sustainability, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Humanitarian Innovation, Lifetime Achievement Award, Special Recognition, Art for Humanity, and Company with Humanitarian Achievements.

Notable dignitaries expected to grace the event include former Ghana First Lady Lordina Mahama, Nigeria First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, and Ivory Coast First Lady Dominique Ouattara. The 2025 African Humanitarian Award promises to be a memorable and impactful celebration of the individuals making a difference in their communities and beyond.
