Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, the spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, has issued a strong call to politicians to cease from encouraging the youth to engage in violence in the lead-up to the 2024 general elections.

He expressed deep concern over the alarming rate of violent incidents that have marred the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.

During a National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) press briefing to announce the initiation of work for its Inter-Party Dialogue Committees, Sheikh Aremeyaw emphasized the need for a peaceful electoral process. He urged the youth to remain vigilant and not allow themselves to be manipulated by politicians into causing unrest.

Sheikh Aremeyaw highlighted the growing fear and anxiety surrounding the upcoming elections due to the recent surge in violent incidents. He stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability during this critical period, stating, “No politician is worth the blood of another.

This year, let no blood spill on our land because of politics. Politicians, make sure you avoid preparing the minds of our young people for violence.”
