Dreams Football Club put on an impressive performance on Wednesday as they defeated Legon Cities FC 2-0 in a bid to avoid relegation from the Ghana Premier League.
The match took place at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu, where striker Agyenim Boateng Mensah shone with a brace to secure the victory for his team.
The Week 24 game was rescheduled due to Dreams FC’s CAF Confederation Cup assignment, but the team knew they needed all three points to stay clear of the relegation zone. Coach Karim Zito’s side started the match strong, applying pressure on the visiting Legon Cities FC from the very beginning.
In just eight minutes into the first half, Agyenim Boateng Mensah opened the scoring to give Dreams FC the lead. And a minute later, he found the back of the net again to seal the victory for his team. The win has now propelled Dreams FC to 13th place on the Ghana Premier League table, distancing them by three places from the relegation zone.
