Gregg Matthew Berhalter (born August 1, 1973) is a retired American soccer player and coach. He is the current head coach of the US men’s national soccer team. Berhalter has coached Columbus Crew SC in Major League Soccer, Hammarby IF in Sweden, and the Los Angeles Galaxy as an assistant coach.

Berhalter made his debut for the United States national team on October 15, 1994, against Saudi Arabia. Berhalter played an important part for the United States at the 2002 World Cup, filling in for the injured Jeff Agoos and starting the final two games, becoming the first Crystal Palace player to play in a World Cup match.

Berhalter returned to the United States in April 2009 after a 15-year career in Europe. He signed his first club contract in his home country with Major League Soccer.

Berhalter was named head coach of the United States national team on December 2, 2018. On January 27, 2019, he earned his first victory as coach in a friendly against Panama. Berhalter led the United States to a continental title at the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup on August 1, 2021. Berhalter led the United States to a 2-0 victory over rival Mexico in World Cup Qualifying on November 12, 2021, at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
