The 22nd FIFA World Cup competition is set to take place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18, 2022. This will be the first World Cup held in the Arab world, and the second World Cup held entirely in Asia, following the tournament in South Korea and Japan in 2002. The tournament will be the last, with 32 teams competing; the field will be expanded to 48 teams for the 2026 tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Poland’s captain is Robert Lewandowski, who currently plays for Barcelona in club football.
Lewandowski was born and raised in Leszno, Warsaw West County. He began his football career as an unregistered player for the local club, Partyzant Leszno. In 1997, he joined MKS Varsovia Warsaw, where he spent seven years as a teen. The following year, he moved to Delta Warsaw, where he eventually made it into the first team, scoring four goals by the end of the season.
Lewandowski scored 15 goals in the Polish third division in 2006-07, assisting Znicz Pruszków to promotion. With 21 goals the following season, he was the top scorer in Poland’s second-highest division.
