Gradually, the week has come to a close and I must say it has been a very engaging one and one that recorded several happenings.

The week started with the country’s grand celebration of her independence from colonial rule and that was followed by the celebration of International women’s day in appreciation of the good works done by women for the country of the country and other places worldwide.
However, the conversation that took centre stage this week is the suicide by the University of Ghana student and the Junior High School girl in the Eastern region of the country. These suicide cases dominated discussions and made most people on Facebook doctors, counselors, and experts at arresting the increasing number of suicide cases in the country.
Although their opinions were not expert opinions, people took a thing or two from it to better their lives and prevent such cases in the future.
Well, in the entertainment industry, unlike the previous week when ‘beefs’ dominated the discussion, this week some issues of importance dominated the discussions.

1.      Guru rescinds decision to withdraw from this year’s VGMA

                    After picking up three nominations for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards including Best  Collaboration of the year, Hiplife song of the year and Hiplife artiste of the years, rapper Guru withdrew from the award scheme for reasons best known to him. However, Guru rescinded his decision and has joined the scheme this week after he supposed problem had been resolved by organisers of the event.

2.      Actor John Dumelo signs Ambassadorial deal with flysaa

Actor and travel lover, John Dumelo announced on Instagram that he had been signed as an ambassador for flysaa and was ready to explore the world as his travels, for now, will be ‘free’. His announcement was met with joy from friends and fans expressed their joy in his latest achievement.

3.      Actor James Gardiner signs Ambassadorial deal with EcoCapital

James signed with the new Giants in investment and used his announcement to encourage Ghanaians to invest into their future. His announcement equally sparked joy among his fans.

4.      Recording artiste, Grey Gh listed the legendary Okyeame Kwame as one of the worst rappers in the country’s history of rap music. 

      According to him, Okyeame Kwame has the talent but he is not up to the standard. He said Okyeame Kwame is dry and is compared to a child performing to himself in the mirror. However, the rap dacta’s publicist has mentioned that he does not intend responding Grey GH

5.      MUSIGA SHOW FLOPS

Social media went agog after pictures from a show organised by the Musicians Union of Ghana, Ghana Music Week festival to be held at the independence square flopped because the show recorded about 20 people attending. A number of artistes were billed to perform at the show.
