The first runner-up of the 2019 edition of the Miss Ghana beauty pageant, Sarah Odei Amoani has reportedly resigned.

According to sources, Sarah handed in her resignation letter to the organizer of the pageant, Inna Patty, who has been engulfed in a host of controversies in the past few years of managing the pageant.

According to Myjoyonline, the beauty queen is unhappy with some demands required of her. There have been allegations of the winners and runners-up of the past editions being exploited by Inna Patty to her benefit. This has been a major source of the criticisms leveled against the pageant over the past years.

Reports indicate that Inna Patty is yet to peruse the conditions submitted by Miss Amoani for an amicable termination. Efforts to reach the organizers to respond to this development have so far proven futile.

Sarah joins the list of winners who have resigned. The winner and the 1st & 2nd runners up of the 2017 edition of Miss Ghana all resigned amidst the winner labeling the pageantry a scam.

Other former winners of the pageant including Miss Ghana 2010 – Stephanie Karikari, Miss Ghana 2015 – Antoinette Delali Kemavor, Miss Ghana 2013 – Giuseppina Nana Akua Baafi and 1 first-runner up – Margaret Kuma-Mintah all resigned after annexing the honours.

The 2019 edition of the Miss Ghana pageant was held barely three months ago at the Kempinski Hotel. Rebecca Nana Adwoa Kwabi emerged the winner, with Sarah Odei Amoani and Deborak Opoku Sarfo adjudged the 1st and 2nd runners up respectively.

The 2019 edition was heavily criticized mainly due to the low level of publicity for the edition. On social media, the pageant was subjected to ridicule for being apparently substandard in organization and branding.
