Twene Jonas, a Ghanaian independence fighter residing in the United States, has attacked Ashantihene Otumfour Osei Tutu ruthlessly for wanting to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Sagrenti war after obtaining Ashanti artifacts from the British.
Jonas claims that Otumfour is inept and has failed to put an end to galamsey in the Ashanti region, but he yet wishes to commemorate gathering artifacts.
According to Jonas, Otumfour is powerless to stop Chairman Wontumi’s widespread involvement in galamsey in the Ashanti region, which is negatively impacting the people’s way of life.
Additionally, he brought up the fact that Otumfour continues to host President Akufo-Addo and his vice, Dr. Bawumia, despite their lack of progress in the Ashanti area.
Twene Jonas proceeded to disparage Otumfour for haughtily accepting his position as a strong monarch.
If his ancestors were weak, Otumfour wouldn’t be commemorating the Sagrenti conflict, in his opinion.
