Sergio Osuna was born in the state of Sonora, Mexico. When he was eighteen years old, he moved to Vancouver, Canada, where he studied English and eventually pursued acting.
He played recurring appearances in Rush (2014), Impastor (2015), and The Magicians most recently (2015).
On MLB’s Top 100 Prospects list as of January 29, 2013, Osuna was listed at number 90. The Class-A Lansing Lugnuts of the Midwest League was where he began the 2013 campaign. When he saw Dr. James Andrews, he was advised against having surgery and instead to rest and rehab the injury. On June 9, Osuna made his comeback from the sidelines and pitched five scoreless innings for Lansing.
Osuna underwent Tommy John surgery in late June in spite of his efforts to rehab his elbow. He was the No. 2 prospect in the Blue Jays organization as of July 26 and was ranked 58th on MLB’s updated Top 100 Prospects list.
