Giuseppe Pericu was an Italian politician who served from October 20, 1937, until June 13, 2022.
He had previously been a member of the Italian Socialist Party until joining the Democratic Party of the Left in 1996.
From 1997 until 2007, he was the mayor of Genoa. The former mayor died at his house in Albaro, where he was supported by his family and the owners of the Gigi Ghirotti.
He completed the entire course of study in the Ligurian capital, including the classical high school at Vittorino da Feltre and the Faculty of Law, where he graduated with a thesis in administrative law, a subject he would later teach at the State University of Milan and the University of the Ligurian capital.
His principal career, however, was that of a lawyer, who has worked in civil administration for almost sixty years, supporting public entities and private firms.
