Martin Kaymer was born to his parents Horst Kaymer and Rina Kaymer in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Who is Martin Kaymer’s father Horst Kaymer?
Horst Kaymer, Martin’s father and a retired executive, is in Germany this week to watch his son compete in the US Open on Sky Germany. Martin’s older brother, Philip, told me that his father preferred to watch the game in English because the German commentators aren’t always accurate.
Despite the fact that Father’s Day has passed in Germany, Horst will be grateful for a late present of his son winning the U.S. Open.
Horst Kaymer, Martin Kaymer’s father, hit a shot on the second day of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at Kingsbarns, Fife.
Horst was present when Kaymer won the BMW International Open in Munich in 2008, making him the first German to do it.
Many golf fans are unaware of him because he is a member of the European Tour and only plays in the United States sometimes.
Kaymer could only play in PGA tournaments with an exception as a member of the European Tour, but as one of the world’s Top 50 golfers, he is now eligible to compete in almost any major professional golf tournament, including the PGA’s Transition Championship at Innisbrook (in Palm Harbor, Florida) in 2011.
