Princess Anne married Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, her second husband, in 1992 in Crathie Parish Church near Balmoral.
Sir Timothy, however, was not given a royal title by the Queen after marrying a member of the Royal Family, as has often been the case with royal weddings.
Princess Anne second husband: Who is Timothy Laurence?
Timothy Laurence, 66, was born in the London borough of Camberwell in 1955.
He joined the Royal Navy in the 1970s and advanced through the ranks from lieutenant to captain before being promoted to vice admiral in 2007.
Laurence began his relationship with Princess Anne in the year 1986.
That same year, he was appointed as an equerry to Queen Elizabeth II, a position he held for more than three years.
He met the Princess Royal while serving aboard the Britannia in the early 1980s, according to The New York Times, but it was as an equerry that he built a friendship with Anne.
How long have they been married?
They married in 1992, shortly after she divorced Captain Mark Phillips, her first husband.
Laurence was 37 years old and a commander when he married his 42-year-old bride.
The wedding took place in a modest church near Scotland’s Balmoral Castle.
Who are their children?
He doesn’t have any children of his own, but he is the stepfather to Anne’s son and daughter.
