After Ramos, a young teenager went on a rampage to kill 21 individuals including two teachers and 19 kids in Texas. The police have been alerted and are prepared to deal with any assailant who intends to kill people in schools.
Following reports of an armed person near the campus, a Richardson ISD high school was placed on lockdown Wednesday(May 25).
According to reports, Berkner High School was placed on lockdown for about an hour in the morning and was released at 12 am. after the Police Department had all their security checks.
Due to the situation, Springridge Elementary, which is a few meters away from Berkner, has been placed on a lockdown. According to an SMS sent to parents by the school district, a suspect has been detained and no gunfire was reported in the area.
There were no reported casualties. According to the SMS students and staff at both schools were safe and accounted for.
The incident is being probed by Richardson police.
