Clarence Dixon was an American prisoner who was convicted of murder. He was found guilty over two decades after the initial crime.

He is said to have murdered Deanna Lynne Bowdoin in January of 1978. Deanna Lynne was a university senior year student at Arizona State University. Clarence Dixon lived right in the vicinity, however family of friends of Lynne never knew of any link between the two.

Clarence Dixon was executed by the state of Arizona on the 11th of May 2022 nearly 14 years after he was first convicted and sentenced to death for murder. He was executed by lethal injection and was the first execution in the state for nearly eight years.

He was 66 years of age at the time of his death and execution. He is reported to half died at half-past ten in the morning, approximately ten minutes after the lethal injection had begun.

He still maintained his innocence in his final statement. Arizona remains one of a few states where the death penalty remains lawful, and proponents of its abolishment point out instances where innocence has later been proven as a good reason to never execute.
