Ancile Gloudon was a Jamaican orchid lover who died on April 30, 2022.
Gloudon allegedly found at least nine species native to the island while serving as secretary, vice president, and then president of the Jamaica Orchid Society, which he recorded in a series of volumes titled Orchids of Jamaica.
He engaged himself in botanical research and traveled the hills and valleys recording flora as a hobby.
He was 89.
