Gerald Jerry M. verDorn was a well-known actor who died on May 1, 2022.
He was known to daytime television audiences for his role as Ross on Guiding Light.
VerDorn spent a year training at an acting institution in London after graduating from what is now Minnesota State University Moorhead.
VerDorn drew the attention of casting agents for CBS’ renowned Guiding Light, and he joined the cast in March 1979 as attorney Ross Marler, a character he portrayed until 2005 and for which he garnered two Daytime Emmys and four further nominations.
VerDorn joined One Life to Live in 2005, playing Clint Buchanan (originally portrayed by Clint Ritchie) until the ABC show and its online reincarnation terminated in 2013.
After 34 years on daytime television, he retired.
