After her adoptive father was captured by guerilla fighters she moved to the United States of America with her family. While still in her teenage years she found an agent who got her roles in various stage shows.
Her outstanding performances caught the attention of many and she soon moved to Los Angeles where she was featured in Viva Vegas.
She first appeared on television in the show Judging Amy and she has since appeared in many more films.
