Jameela Jamil has spoken out about the angry white men who have responded to her decision to leave Twitter due to Elon Musk’s takeover of the social media platform.
Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla, purchased the platform on Monday (25 April) for approximately $44 billion (£34.5 billion).
Jameela Jamil, best known for her role in The Good Place, announced her departure from Twitter after the takeover.
She was concerned that the free speech bid would help the platform reach its ultimate form of lawless hatred, bigotry, and misogyny.
This was in response to her backlash after quitting Twitter over Elon Musk’s purchase.
Jameela Jamil said her pictures with her dog would be her last tweet.
The actress is not the only one who is concerned about the impact of Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter.
Several Twitter users have expressed concern about the impact Elon Musk’s policies will have on the microblogging platform.
Since the purchase, the hashtag #leavingtwitter has been trending high on the microblogging platform – though many of the tweets are from Twitter users mocking people who have promised to leave the platform.
