Last week, Johnny Depp testified for three days in his lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp has filed a libel suit against Heard, stating that she falsely depicted him as a domestic abuser, causing him to lose his lucrative acting career.
The allegation stems from an op-ed Heard published for the Washington Post in 2018, in which she alluded to being abused but did not name Depp.
Depp claimed on the stand that he never struck Heard and that he has never attacked a woman.
He accused Heard of abuse and spoke openly about his own drug and alcohol problems.
Depp is suing Heard for defamation after she claimed in an essay for The Washington Post in 2018 that she had become the “public figure representing domestic abuse.”
Despite the fact that the story does not reference Depp by name, his lawyers claim it alludes to abuse charges she made against him during their 2016 divorce.
Heard is suing Depp for $100 million in retaliation.
The trial in Virginia’s Fairfax County is scheduled to last many weeks.
