Jay Wright has retired from his position as head coach of Villanova university. He has been the head coach since 2001.

Jerold Taylor Jay Wright Jr. was born on December 24, 1961. He started playing basketball in his high school days at Council Rock high school north in Pennsylvania. In Bucknell university, Lewisburg he was part of the basketball team.

He started coaching right after college. Jay Wright became a Division I college basketball coach as an assistant coach at Drexel university in 1986.

He became head coach at Hofstra university in 1994 and moved to Villanova university in 2001 as head coach.

Jay Wright is married to Patrica Wright with three children.

Jay Wright has not retired from only Villanova but totally from coaching. The 60 years old outstanding coach has spend his life coaching one team to another.

He mentioned in official statement that he was retiring so he could spend more time with his wife and children.

People believe he would become a special assistant to the president of Villanova university but that has not been confirmed yet.
