Sherri Papini is a mother of 2 who faces a 25-year sentence for planning her own kidnap.
She informed authorities she was kidnapped and mutilated by two women who locked her in a cupboard.
She was discovered alone on an interstate highway 140 miles from home after three weeks.
Papini’s horrified husband reported her missing after she went for a jog near her home in Shasta County in November 2016.
According to court documents, Papini earned over $30,000 in fake victim assistance money as a consequence of the lie.
