Patricia MacLachlan, an American children’s writer and award-winning novelist, who was notable for the medal-winning novel, “Sarah, Plain and Tall”, has died at age 84.
The news about Patricia MacLachlan’s death was confirmed by her son John MacLachlan.
According to John MacLachlan, his mother Patricia MacLachlan died on March 31, 2022, in her home in Williamsburg.
Patricia MacLachlan was an award-winning novelist who received the 1986 Newbery Medal for her novel series “Sarah, Plain, and Tall”.
She began writing at the age of 35 and authored more than 60 children’s books including Skylark in 1994, Caleb Story in 2002, More Perfect Than the Moon in 2004, and Grandfather’s Dance in 2009 among many others.
Patricia MacLachlan was born on March 3, 1938, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, United States, and attended the University of Connecticut.
