According to a family member, actress Jennifer Wilson died at the age of 89 at her home in France.

Her roles in Coronation Street and Casualty made her a household name. Until 2015, her most recent acting role was as Nancy Milne in the BBC soap Doctors.

In 1969, she starred as Detective Sergeant Helen Webb in the inaugural season of ITV’s Special Branch.

She also appeared in the popular 1970s television programs The Brothers and Special Branch.

Wilson’s appearances as Mrs. Bradbury in Corrie and Lily Compton in Casualty made her a household figure.

Her 50-year career in television began in 1955 with a role in the television film Marie Tussaud.

In 1959, she married actor Brian Peck, who tragically died last year.
