José María Figueres Olsen is a Costa Rican businessman and politician.
Figures started his career as an engineer working in agribusiness. Jose Maria Figueres had held the Post of Foreign Trade and Minister of Agriculture and Livestock previously.
Following his mandate, he served on the boards of several international organizations, mostly in the fields of technology, sustainable development, and the environment.
He served as President of Costa Rica from 1994 to 1998.
He recently ran for president in the 2022 presidential election in Costa Rica but was defeated by Rodrigo Chaves.
