Philip Jeck was a composer and multimedia artist from England who died on March 25, 2022.
Jeck was always interested in visual art as a youngster, but when he went to Dartington College of Art, he was compelled to connect with the music and theatre departments, which sparked his interest in the craft.
In his work, he is most recognized for using vintage turntables and vinyl records, as well as looping devices and both analogue and digital effects.
Since 1995, he has been publishing music on the UK label Touch, which he began by composing for installations and dance companies.
Jeck regularly collaborated with various artists and composers, including Jah Wobble, Fennesz, Alter Ego, Can’s Jaki Liebezeit, and Faith Coloccia, in addition to 12 solo albums.
