Charlie Munger is an American billionaire investor, businessman, and former real estate attorney. He is currently the vice president of Berkshire Hathaway, a conglomerate controlled by Warren Buffet. He also serves as the chairman of the Daily Journal Corporation.
When Munger was a teenager, he worked at a grocery store owned by Buffet’s grandfather, “Buffett & Son”.
Munger and Buffet have been good friends for over 60 years, with Buffet describing Munger as his closest partner and right-hand man.
In 1959, they met at a dinner arranged by a mutual acquaintance. According to a CNBC article, Buffet knew right away that Munger and himself would have a long partnership and friendship. Munger attested to this by noting that he and Buffet immediately hit it off.
During the period of their friendship, the duo has both built Berkshire Hathaway into an Investment giant which exceeds $600 billion. This has led the two to see their net worth push past the $1 billion mark.
