Steven Spence Marshall (born 21 January 1968) is a South Australian politician who served as the state’s 46th premier from 2018 to 2022.
Marshall was born in Adelaide, South Australia, in the neighborhood of Woodville South.
He went to Ethelton Primary School and Immanuel College before going to the South Australian Institute of Technology to study business (now the University of South Australia).
He earned his MBA from Durham University in the United Kingdom.
Since 2010, he has represented the electorate of Dunstan in the South Australian House of Assembly as a member of the Liberal Party of Australia’s South Australian Division (known as Norwood before 2014).
Marshall has been the South Australian Liberal Party’s leader since February 2013, and was the opposition leader from 2013 to 2018. From October 2012 to February 2013, he served as the party’s deputy leader.
