Why did Josh Hawley want women banned in military draft?

A  republican candidate for senate, Rep Vicky Hartzler, introduced a bill to abolish draft registration for men and women.

The junior senator and lawyer, Josh Hawley has been against the bill and wants women to be banned from the military.

In a interview, Hawley stated, “I’m in favour of keeping  elective Service, but I am not in favor of forcing women to fight against their will”

The senator for Missouri is set to lead the effort to remove the provision requiring women to register for the Selective Service System.

The junior senator and constitutional lawyer, Josh Hawley said; “It is wrong to force our daughters, mothers, wives, and sisters to fight our wars. Our country is extremely grateful for the brave women who have volunteered to serve our country with and alongside our fighting forces.”

He added that “They have played a vital role in defending America at every point in our nation’s history. But volunteering for military service is not the same as being forced into it, and no woman should be compelled to do so.”
