
Vic Elford was one of the finest English sportscar racers who died on March 13, 2022.
He won the European Rally Championship in 1967 before embarking on an astonishing run of victories in early 1968.
In May 1968, he and Jo Siffert won the Nurburgring 1000Km. Elford won the Monte Carlo Rally in a 911T with co-driver David Stone.
He however never won the Le Mans 24 Hours and Porsche 917 ace.
Elford raced for Ford, Triumph, Lancia, Alfa-Romeo, Ferrari, Chaparral, Shadow, Cooper, Lola, Chevron, and Subaru in addition to Porsche for five years.
He also drove for McLaren in F1 and CanAm, and Chevrolet.
