Self-proclaimed king of African dancehall Charles Nii Amarh Mensah, aka Shatta Wale broke down in uncontrollable tears at the Accra Sports Stadium in the early hours of Sunday during the second edition of the SHATTA FEST birthday celebration.
The 1 Don broke down in tears while performing back-to-back hit songs for his fans, who couldn’t stop singing along. Midway into the performance, fully overwhelmed by the support and love from his fans, who kept cheering him on, an emotional Shatta Wale spoke about the challenges and hurdles he has had to overcome, a journey that has shaped him as one of the biggest and most loved artiste in the country with a loyal fanbase.
Shatta Wale, born on October 17th, has made it a point to celebrate his birthday with his fans as a way of showing his appreciation to them for the love and support they have shown for his music career.
The first edition of Shatta fest which was held at the Black Star Square dominated the headlines due to the number of people that turned up to be part of the event, with some estimations in the region of over 600,000.
Tickets for this years event were completely sold out barely a week after the prices were announced with the new venue being the Accra Sports Stadium.
