Rotarian Florence Maame Hagan, the District Governor of D9104, recently highlighted the importance of commitment, integrity, and continuous learning among Rotarians during her official visit to the Rotary Club of Accra-La East.
In a meeting with club members, she emphasized the dual obligations of attendance and financial contributions to both local clubs and the Rotary Foundation. Stressing the need for impact, she stated, “As Rotarians, we have obligations; we have attendance and financial obligations both to our clubs and to the Foundation. We must be impactful.”
Madam Hagan expressed her concerns about the club’s ability to fulfill these obligations and achieve its project goals. She emphasized the importance of membership retention and adherence to Rotary principles for the club’s survival.
Highlighting her worries as the new District Governor, she mentioned potential challenges such as a lack of commitment, failure to achieve project targets, stagnant membership growth, and non-compliance with Rotary rules.
To address these concerns, she urged members to contribute their quota and utilize the Rotary Learning Center for personal and club development. She also called for mutual respect, sincerity, and the avoidance of exploitation among Rotarians.
In response, President Dorothy Ametepe assured Madam Hagan of the club’s unwavering support during her tenure as District Governor.
Overall, the District Governor’s visit served as a reminder for Rotarians to uphold their responsibilities, embrace continuous learning, and work together to achieve the club’s goals. Their commitment to integrity and service will ultimately strengthen the Rotary community and create a positive impact on society.
