Championship club Hull City has reportedly made a bold move by submitting a £2.5 million bid for West Bromwich Albion and Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante, as per reports from Sky Sports.

After both clubs fell short of securing promotion last season, they are determined to strengthen their squads in preparation for the upcoming campaign. Hull City managed to finish 7th in the Championship, narrowly missing out on the play-offs. Their performance ultimately led to the departure of manager Liam Rosenior, who recently took up a new role at RC Strasbourg.

On the other hand, West Brom reached the play-offs but faced an early elimination at the hands of Southampton, who eventually emerged as the winners of the competition.

Brandon Thomas-Asante, who has proven to be a key player for West Brom, has attracted the attention of Hull City. The 25-year-old forward joined West Brom from Salford City in August 2022 on a three-year deal, which now has only one year left to run. In his time with the Baggies, he has managed to score 18 goals and provide two assists in 72 league appearances.

Although details regarding West Brom’s response to the bid remain scarce, it has been reported that several other clubs are also keen on acquiring Asante’s services.
