The upcoming 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season will see a temporary halt to allow for the national elections scheduled for December 7, 2024.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the Premier League will pause after matchday 12 games on November 25, 2024, and will resume on December 13, 2024.
This break will allow players and officials to participate in the election process and cast their votes for the next president and parliamentarians. Ensuring that everyone exercises their civic duties is a priority for the GFA.
In addition to the pause for the general elections, the Ghana FA has revealed that there will be midweek fixtures throughout the season. These midweek games have been set aside for clubs taking part in the CAF inter-club competitions, providing them with the necessary time to balance both domestic and continental fixtures.
The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season is set to kick off on Friday, September 6, 2024, at various venues across the country. The season will run until Sunday, June 8, 2025, promising an exciting journey of football action for fans to enjoy.
