The highly anticipated 2024-25 Ghana Premier League Season is set to kick off on Friday, September 6, 2024, as announced by the Ghana Football Association (GFA). Defending champions FC Samartex 1996 will begin their title defense with an away match against Dreams FC, while Hearts of Oak will host newly promoted Basake Holy Stars in their opening game.
Asante Kotoko SC will face a tough challenge as they travel to Karela United in their opening fixture. The first matchday will also see former champions Medeama take on last season’s second-placed team, Accra Lions, in what promises to be an exciting clash.
Newly promoted Vision FC will go head-to-head against Berekum Chelsea, Nsoatreman FC will battle Young Apostles, and Aduana FC will lock horns with Heart of Lions. Gold Stars FC is set to host Legon Cities, while Nations FC will entertain Bechem United in what is expected to be a thrilling start to the season.
Fans can also look forward to the Super Clash between Asante Kotoko SC and Accra Hearts of Oak, with the first leg scheduled for Match Day 13 at Baba Yara Stadium between December 13 and 16, 2024. The return fixture will take place on Match Day 30 at Accra Sports Stadium between May 2 and 5, 2025, adding to the excitement of the upcoming season.
