The leadership of Parliament has pledged its unwavering support to reigning Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex as they gear up for their upcoming CAF Champions League campaign.
In a ceremony held on Wednesday, July 24, FC Samartex presented the league trophy to Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, who congratulated the team on their historic achievement. He assured them of the full backing of the Members of Parliament as they prepare for the continental competition.
Head coach Nurudeen Amadu led FC Samartex to clinch the title for the 2023/24 season, earning them the right to represent Ghana in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.
During the presentation, club president Dr Richard Nsenkyire gifted replica jerseys and club memorabilia to the Parliament leadership as a token of appreciation for their support.
Currently, the team is in the Eastern Region for pre-season training as they get ready to face Cameroonian side Victoria United in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League on August 16.
With the backing of Parliament, FC Samartex aims to make a mark on the continental stage and bring pride to Ghana as they compete against the best teams in Africa.
