Ghanaian international midfielder, Daniel Kofi Kyereh, has faced setbacks in his journey back to full fitness. The player had to depart from Freiburg’s pre-season training camp due to ongoing knee issues.

Kyereh, who has been out for a year and a half following an anterior cruciate ligament injury, was hopeful to make a comeback for the upcoming Bundesliga season. Unfortunately, his knee problems resurfaced during recent training sessions, leading to his early exit from the camp.

The 28-year-old is set to undergo surgery to evaluate the extent of his new injury, with further treatment likely to follow. This setback adds to Kyereh’s missed opportunities, as he was unable to participate in the entirety of the previous season despite initial hopes for a late return.

Since joining Freiburg in July 2022, Kyereh has showcased his skills in 12 matches, scoring two goals during his debut season. On the national team front, the midfielder has been absent since his appearance in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Ghanafuo.com will continue to monitor Kyereh’s progress and provide updates on his recovery and potential return to the pitch. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
