Former GFA Executive Council member, Sammy Anim Addo, has made a strong case for including Mathew Anim Cudjoe in the Black Stars squad, comparing his abilities to those of West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus.

Anim Cudjoe first grabbed headlines at just 16 years old with Asante Kotoko for his exceptional dribbling skills. Now 21 years old, he has represented Ghana at various youth levels, including the U-20 team.

However, despite his promising talent, Anim Cudjoe is yet to make a significant impact since joining Scottish side Dundee United. He is currently a free agent after not extending his contract.

In an interview with Luv FM in Kumasi, his manager Anim Addo argued that Cudjoe possesses qualities similar to those of Kudus and should be considered as a valuable option for the Black Stars, especially as a substitute when Kudus may not be in top form.

“The boy’s talent is extraordinary; if you look at Mohammed Kudus in the Black Stars, my son is the only one in Ghana who has those qualities that Kudus possesses. If we give him the opportunity and provide him with the right environment and structure, Mathew should be on the Black Stars team at least as a bench player.

“The day Kudus is not shining and needs to be substituted, Mathew is the player we should be looking at because all the qualities Kudus has, Mathew possesses them too. Mathew is fearless and you can see it, it’s rare to find young players with that kind of mentality and heart, and we should make use of them,” he emphasized.

With his confidence and skill on the pitch, it remains to be seen if Mathew Anim Cudjoe will get the chance to showcase his talents on the national stage with the Black Stars.
