Ghanaian-Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki has officially signed with Serie A club Parma Calcio 1913, expressing his excitement about the new opportunity.

In his first interview with Parma Calcio media, Suzuki shared his enthusiasm for the club, recognizing its rich history and global fan base. “I am Zion Suzuki, and I am really excited to be a part of Parma Calcio 1913,” he said.

The goalkeeper emphasized the significance of playing in Serie A, one of the top football leagues in the world. He made a commitment to always give his best performance in order to contribute to the team’s success.

“I am aware that this is a club with a great history, with fans all over the world, and we will be competing in Serie A. Therefore, I will always strive to give my all and help the team achieve success,” Suzuki added.

Prior to turning professional in 2020, Zion Suzuki was trained in the Urawa Red Diamonds youth system in Japan. He represented Japan in all of the country’s youth national teams during this period, and by 2022, at just 19 years old, he was a regular starter for the senior squad.

Suzuki appeared in 32 matches in the Jupiler Pro League last season, showcasing his athleticism, character, and technical abilities, all of which have helped him establish himself as a prominent player on the global stage.

It has been reported that Parma paid 7 million euros for Suzuki, with additional bonuses included in the deal. His contract with the club is set to run until 30 June 2029.
