The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is rallying all party members to support the elected parliamentary candidate for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah. Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah secured victory by defeating the biological brother of Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, garnering 337 votes.
In an interview, the NPP’s Director of Elections, Evans Nimako, stressed the importance of unity as the party gears up for the December 7 elections. He urged all members to unite behind the chosen candidate to ensure success.
“This is a victory for the Manhyia South constituency, and we need to work together as a team with one destiny to win the 2024 election,” Nimako emphasized.
He further added, “Dr. Bawumia will become the president, and we will win the Manhyia South constituency and other constituencies to constitute a majority in parliament so that government business will thrive.”
Nimako expressed confidence that the NPP will achieve victory in the upcoming elections and secure the majority of seats in parliament, moving away from the current challenging 137-137 tie. This strategic move aims to facilitate smoother government operations and parliamentary proceedings.
As the NPP looks ahead to the elections, the party is determined to emerge victorious and secure a stronger foothold in parliament. The unity and support of all members are crucial in achieving this goal.
