Black Queens Head Coach, Nora Hauptle, is leading the charge as her team sets out to reclaim its position as the top African team in women’s football.
Since taking over in January 2023, the Swiss trainer has overseen significant improvement in the team, with an impressive ten-game winning streak before experiencing a setback with two losses.
As the Black Queens prepare for an international friendly against Japan on Saturday, July 13, 2024, Coach Hauptle is focused on testing the team’s current performance against a strong opponent like Japan.
In a recent interaction with the Japanese press, she highlighted the team’s mission to reclaim the number one spot in Africa and perform at the highest level as they have done in past women’s tournaments.
Coach Hauptle stressed the importance of bringing the Black Queens back to the level of success they achieved in previous Women’s African Cup of Nations, as well as qualifying for the World Cup.
With the team back in the Women’s African Cup of Nations, Coach Hauptle emphasized the significance of measuring the team against the top ten teams in the world to continue their growth and progress.
